Hiii, How are you?

Hiii, How are you? Me? Oooo I am just dandy. This life is a good one, full of adventure and fun and friends and love. Its also full of learning lessons, making mistakes, accepting and denying challenges and making it work! Its not easy, and for a while I have not been very good at updating here or anywhere of whats really been happening.... Time~ just keeps going and it sometimes gets me all scrambled up. But I am only 35 and I have a lot left to do here!  So I am getting my ass back at it..

As some may know, I have been busy working on a passion project since 2021, My Body, Me (MBM) and it has been consuming me ever since it started.. It is an important project and there is so much blood, sweat, tears, love, hate, push and pull doing it! I have completely changed from it. I am no longer the same artist I was when I started it. . . and I am so excited to get to share the experience with the world.

The beginning..

As all great collaborations and conversations go;  It all started with a call... an inquiry.. a gig. My friend, and now Partner, Natalie Scheetz called me up in January of 2021 (in the heart of the pandemic lets not forget!) & we got to talking about shooting her before she gets pregs and her body changes. Soon enough our convo transpired into how we feel about our bodies; our relationships with our bodies, with all the stages of life that our bodies endure and the conflicting ways the world tells us it's not good enough.... For me, this topic goes deeeeeepppp..

We knew we were not alone on this issue. ​

And so it begun...
After having a few more conversations, Natalie and I decided we wanted to go the nude/fine arts route with the images turning out bold and beautiful with The ONE main thing:  NO editing of their skin and bodies, or alter the photo in any way that transforms their body.

I dreamed of silhouettes, shadows, highlights, colors, contrasts, shapes, tones and feels!

The Vision was born! ​

The seed was planted

My fire was *LIT*

....... Tiny little problem before we started was, I needed to get my hands on a legit studio setup including a very fun element for me, gels!! ​​​

Flash forward 2 years to now* and we wrapped shooting, got our muses approvals (Because of course this project is 100% collaborative with everyone involved) and are getting ready to show the world what ended up blossoming into an entire garden of 35 Muse's, including ourselves, and 5,000+ photos, video archives, stories and interviews ... and even more... things we didn't foresee. The true impact has yet to reveal itself, but from what we've witnessed and felt, we believe it can create a huge influence, a new perspective, a deeper insight and understanding of your self and others~  ​

Flash Back to 2020...

(Warning: things are about to get emotional)

Luckily, the Christmas of 2020, I was gifted my first studio light by none other than the generous and loving, Susan Nelson,  my partner's mother.

Susan transcended this last August 23'. RIP <3

She was lovely. She really surprised me that year by buying everything that was on my amazon wish list & that included photography AND designing tools. I will always remember this. She believed in me and wanted to, & succeeded in, helping me learn new skills in my profession and get to that next level! She was a teacher so of course she did. I come from a big family full of teachers and I've been graced with a handful of phenomenal teachers and advisors~ most memorable is Mrs. K! Mrs. K happened to be a marketing teacher just like Susan. To me~ that helped create a special bond with Susan~ I just love marketing teachers what can I say :)))) 

I will carry her in my heart and thank her every time I sew on that serger or turn on those bulbs. <3 You never know how someone can effect your life... amiright?
Thank you Susan, for everything .

By the spring of 2021, I acquired more lights and gels and bits and bobbles and got me a whole studio set up!!
