My Buddies Adam and Niles called me the instant they heard about an art exhibit mimicking the iconic white out room that is seen in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was a dream come true for them, and I was going to help capture the moments. Also, the two of them form a funky booty shakin' DJ group named Fleetwood Smack (soundcloud.com/djsfleetwoodsmack) so we had a lot of fun taking promo shots everywhere. Niles brother, Adam (other Adam) and his fiancé' Juliet and another friend, Shaw. The exhibit was kind enough to let me bring in my Canon Mark II 5D, but nothing else. That was not the challenge for this photoshoot. The main event, the white room, had about a 30 minute wait to get in, we were aloud 1 minute ONLY to be inside, there was a 6 person limit, and we all had to take off our shoes. I knew about the time restriction beforehand, but the shoes made for a nice twist to the challenge. I had to either shoot above feet or say "fuck it" and let the socks show. In the end, the rush and intensity of the shoot was a lot of fun and we got some keepers. The other art throughout the event was inspiring and I was burning with creativity and because I had my camera with me, I decided to make some art on art on art. One hell of a way to spend a sunny day with friends and fellow art lovers and doers 💖
