Chasing The Newsie Comet

It was a different kind of summer in the year 2020.
It was a hot July with no beaching to be had.
No major partying or social events for we all know what came rolling on through~
​Covid.. What a time to be alive, eh?
So grateful to be alive.

It was July, and Erik's 41st birthday was coming up
and with the town shut down we decided to have our own adventure.
We packed up the Sportsmobile, Tadpole, camera, and a bunch of delicious steak, fancy wine, champagne, caviar, ..you know, all the things
~keeping it classy~
​and away we went  🚌💨

Being on the road is a place like no other.. ​

​Even though we had a destination in mind, our spirits soared as we got out of that pandemic sick-ridden city to find an open road with no real plans or places to go.
It felt so free to be outside and alone with my love and dog, Mi familia.
It occurred to me that we've never done this kind of thing before, us 3.

We headed north to the place we love the most
Mammoth Lakes
(Though, we've never been in July)

Actually, we ended up at a hot springs outside of Mammoth Lake~ Lo and behold when we showed up, it was drained. This is what it looked like. It was still a fun spot to camp and watch the people come down this one dirt road thinking they were going to get some hot spring action, just to be bummed to find a drained tub. It was so fun! There was like 30 cars in total. We called this the Tour of Disappointment ~ lol some even came to us asking if we knew anything... nope. We are just like you~ hopeful for some of natures delicious treats during these hard pandemic times.

Camp was set. We stayed for 2 nights. Tad and I went on many hikes and adventures and the cows came to us!  The setting was absolutely gorgeous and the air was sweet. We needed this to cleanse our souls. I loved getting to take some landscape shots. and then when night settled in, I got to practice some  nighttime photography skills. This is what I got!

And COWS! We had cows and it was awesome. They came up so so close. 
And if you're wondering, yes, we did cook the steak still.. and it was delicious!
